Sunshine Coast University Hospital - Queensland Health
Hi,
My name is Jacinta Ashton. I am a Registered Nurse with 10 years experience in oncology/haematology and palliative care.
I currently works as a Clinical Nurse Consultant- Cancer Care Coordinator at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Prior to this, I have had the privledge of holding several leadership and management positions in both the public and private sector.
To consolidate my practical experience, I have also completed a Master of Advanced Practice Nursing (Cancer Nursing) and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership. One of the most rewarding parts of my career to date has been completing my dissertation titled: An interpretive description of oncology patients' experiences with scalp cooling therapy. I am honoured to showcase this here at the CNSA conference this year in the form of a poster presentation.
I hope to continue my studies in the future to complete a Doctorate of Philosophy in the Faculty of Health.
I always love meeting new people and networking with other cancer nurses. I strongly believe cultivating strong relationships within the industry drives high-quality patient care and continuous implementation of evidence-based practice. I look forward to catching up with some familar faces and having the pleasure to meeting some new ones too. Please come and say hello, I'm always up for a chat!
