Sally Kriel is a Clinical Nurse Consultant, Bowel Cancer Survivor, Health Care Consultant, and published Author.
Beginning her nursing career in 1999 as an Assistant in Nursing, Sally has worked across many public and private primary and tertiary healthcare systems in Australia, The United Kingdom, and the Middle East. The majority of her acute care experience has been in Critical Care Nursing, before working in Service Development and establishing Hospital Avoidance Programs. Over the last eight years, Sally has established her carer in clinical redesign, NSQHS implementation, patient safety, and project management.
Towards the end of 2018, Sally at the age of 38 years was diagnosed with bowel cancer, transforming her life and nursing career. Today Sally is a proud cancer wellness advocate and is working with Bowel Cancer Australia to develop 'The Movement' - an online survivorship network and expert resource hub for Australians living with or beyond Bowel Cancer, and their loved ones. Sally believes that clinicians who have experienced a major health challenge can bring a unique and important lens to healthcare research, service co-design, delivery, and evaluation.
Sally holds a Masters of Advanced Nursing Practice (Golden Key Award), a Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management (Golden Key Award), Post Graduate qualifications in Cardiac Surgery Nursing and Intensive Care Nursing, and a Bachelor of Nursing.
